1. Prime lenses from 50mm and up on APS-C are not much smaller than full frame lenses with adaptor. Maybe it is more practical to use full frame lenses for those focal distances.
A native 50mm lens could easily be 10mm shorter than the EF lens on an adapter. That is a significant difference. Lens adapters are a pain. They should be the exception, not the rule
2. Prime lenses 40mm and below do not produce good bokeh even wide open. What is point in them? For low light? But zoom lenses are well stabilized and can be used in low light quite well.
Bokeh is a function of the lens designers priorities and has no relation to focal length. IS only counteracts your motions. It does nothing to stop the motions of your subject. IS also tends to negatively impact bokeh.
I wanted prime lenses for M very much when I purchased my first M. But now I am not so sure that they make any sense.
3. Existing Zoom lenses cover all my needs when I need to zoom.
I did vote in your poll, but if you had option "I don't need more new lenses for M", I would vote for it.
While that is a perfectly reasonable opinion, I am pretty sure it would represent a very small minority.
Everything you said is true. But benefits of more lenses are not tremendous. For me M is a small cute complimentary camera for camping trips and vacations. When you need serious pictures and need serious primes, I would take full frame anyway. 6D is almost $1,000 new and will be even less soon. Full frame + primes difference is more tremendous. See prices for Fuji primes. You can have FF camera with primes for less and have much better results. Of course even 4/3 cameras have primes, but they are more for enthusiasts. I am not sure who represents "a very small minority". I can be wrong here. Thank you for your time to reply.
