A couple of EM10 questions

I currently have a Panasonic G5, which meets most of my needs. However, I like to have a second body and am thinking of the EM10, given its current price and Olympus cashback (in the UK).

The main advantages for me of the EM10 are:

  • IBIS so I can use my non-stabalized lenses at lower speeds then the G5
  • Focus peaking which will help with focusing my non-AF lenses and with my 4/3 35mm macro lens (where AF is very slow)
  • Viewfinder stabilization which should help composition/focusing, especially when using the magnified view.  (The magnified view in the G5 can get a bit jittery.)
  • Modest increase in DR at base ISO
  • Liveview highlight "blinkies"

I'm just wondering if I am overestimating some of these so my questions are:

  • Focus peaking - how good is the Olympus implementation? Is it accurate enough to help with macro shots and portrait shots with a shallow DoF?  Does it work in magnified view?
  • Magnified view - does it gain up in low light? (It doesn't on the G5 which can make MF impossible in magnified view at times.)

I did consider the GX7 as well but I'm not keen on the widescreen EVF - the EM10 EVF seems much more immersive somehow.  Also, the GX7 doesn't stabalise the viewfinder.

All comments very much appreciated.

Thanks!
