either the 18-55 or if you have the funds, the 18-135 or even better the new da16-85.  all 3 of these are wr.  Also consider the DA20-40 - it has limited focal range but it's small and light.  I would get a good quality close up filter like a raynox - it's small and fast to install.  If you want a long lens, the 55-300wr optically is a good lens, but it tends to hunt a bit focusing wise.  Still, I've taken pics of seagulls flying at the coast with this lens, but just so you know... The 50-200wr is an often maligned lens, but I've had 3 copies and they have all been good as long as they are stopped down.  And this lens is considerably smaller and lighter than the da55-300.

I went camping a few weeks back and took a lens case the size of a paperback book and it held a da35 macro(consider the da35 f2.4 for less $$), da15, da21, and fa43 (consider the da50 f1,8 for less $$).  Nice and small with enough of a range to make the best of most situations.  Still had enough room in the lens case for extra memory, remote, lens pen and blower, lens cleaner and gps module (awesome for astrophotography or for knowing exactly where you took a shot - O-gps1).  The weakness of this kit is that it was not WR.  If I were to do a long night exposure in spotty weather (sometimes those streaking clouds can be cool, but they sometimes have rain in them) I'd want a wr kit outdoors.  Another shortcoming in this kit is that there isn't a fast wide lens for astrophotography - this type of lens, however, is usually large and would probably not make the cut except for car camping.
