Best lenses for cruise/ vacation Istanbul, Myconos, Valetta, Pompei & Rome

Hello and thank you FD, you are absolutely right, it is not a photo trip, having a great time with my family comes first. Same here, no prints on the walls

For this trip I will mostly use only one lens the 24-70f/2.8L II, it is sharp and very fast and I am used to carry it on my 6D nearly every day, everywhere I go, work or pleasure.

Sorry I do not have any public account. I am a photo enthusiast. I take photos of friends and family, trips abroad, my sons in- and outdoors sports, nature, wildlife, flowers, architecture and more. I'd like to start with deep space astronomy photo some day.

Mostly Canon and Nikon SLR user since 1971 but also used Olympus, Pentax, Leica, Contax, Yashica, Bronica, Hasselblad and Miranda. I developed my on film and made prints in both BW and Colour 1971-1985. DSLRs since 2003/2004. My first digicam was a Agfa 307 and I made my first visit here on dpreview 1998 then called Phil Askey net.

The FZ1000 is a fine superzoom camera with an impressive 24-400 but it is not much smaller than my DSLR and I need to keep a DSLR for Indoor sports, wildlife and perhaps astronomy.
The 3 near perfect smallish cameras for me are: Fuji X100T, Panasonic LX100 and the third option being my 6D + 35f/2 IS. Very tempted..

I have had so much often to much equipment in my days. I really try to keep it down to one max cameras now. I now only use a 6D, 24-70 and 70-200. I have kept my old 20D for sentimental reasons and some really old cameras (my fathers) from 1933-1970 and his oldest SLR from 1959 a Canonflex, all are working.
