Two bodies or an extra lens for my upcoming trip to Rome?

What I had...

was 2 bodies with 9-18, 12-60 and 40-150 and the 25mm lens. The other body stayed mostly at hotel (for backup) and most used lenses were 9-18 and 12-60. 25mm for nighshots and interior, 40-150 mostly for cityscapes from higher places, and for zoo photos. The 40-150 is the light and cheap kit one, but it's good - and I used it mostly at the long end in Rome. I would now take the same setup + 7.5mm Rokinon.

The second body would be a good addition, especially if your wife likes to take some photos too. But I would not be that critical for changing lenses... I do it all the time if I need to. Of course if it is dusty, windy rainy etc, you have to be careful what to do and when, but in normal circumstances in Rome... No problem.

A bag not looking like a camera bag is a good suggestion. The metro and buses to Vatican are known to be popular within pickpockets - as about every big tourist attraction site everywhere in the world. Anyway, I have some Italian friends and I would not call them thieves... Been there several times and never had a problem (except a camera breaking down in Florence ones, but that had nothing else to do with Italy; shutter fail with a Konica). But it would be a good idea not to be the one that attracts the pickpockets mostly. And  to keep an eye what's happening around, and the bag on the frontside in metros and growded places. (I'd do that in New York too...)

In Rome I would not find that much reason for 35-100, but it's quite light and reachable, so why not. But the wides are more useful.

Have a nice trip!
