Great value for money

The best thing about this lens is its price.

The worst thing is that it looks and feels like a cheap Chinese toy (maybe black version is not as obviously bad).

So yeah, it's a cheap lens that looks and feels like a cheap lens. However, it does perform remarkably well. I'm comfortable shooting it at all focal lengths and apertures, knowing that it will deliver good results. It's not going to be anywhere close to prime lenses or high-end zooms, but it's also far from being bad. I'd say its biggest problem is handling of flare and reflections. Having a bright light source in or near the edge of the frame can cause some problems. The fact that it does not come with a lens hood does not help. But at that price, it's really easy to forgive.

As for focusing, it's very quiet and fast enough to not be a bother.

Build quality is cheap, as I mentioned before. However, after almost a year of heavy use I can only be amazed at how solid it actually is. It's all plastic, including the mount, but so far, everything is as tight as it was when I got it. I see no signs of mechanical wear anywhere, nor is there any degradation of optical performance. So while it screams poor quality in looks and feels, it's actually built well.

If you want a really cheap telephoto option, this is it. At that price, one would expect performance much worse than this.
