Now, YOU'VE got me thinking about a SL1 as a 2nd camera body where I can avoid lens changes in the field. I think I'd really benefit from such a convenience....and it won't break the bank(looking at a SL1).

Just remember/think carefully about your post not too long ago that you was complaining about carrying the weight of the SX50HS for a day at the zoo.

I've been carrying multiple bodies since my 35mm SLR days (early 1970's). Back with film would sometimes have 2 or 3 bodies, each body with a different film type/ISO -- i.e., not just for reducing the need for changing lenses.

Until recently getting the FZ1000, my general/travel photog bag contained 60D/55-250 IS STM, 70D/15-85 IS, 17-55mm f/2.8 IS (for low light), 430EX II, 62mm and 77mm CP filters, extra camera and flash batteries, lens hoods, and LensPen/Microfiber cloth; approx. 8 lbs.
