I could link to thousands of examples on Flickr where that simply isn't the case.

Maybe, but so far I have seen nothing that have convinced me the prevous times the same issue have been discussed.

And NOTE - I do not say it is impossible to get nice greens in pre Merrill Foveon pictures - I know you can. I am saying that what I have seen from images posted here it seems to be common that greens look strange.

My experience of foveon sensors has been that the brighter the light, the better they are. They shine in two areas for me, bright light and limited exposure nightscapes, in those scenarios they have always delivered for me. Colour on all my foveon cameras can go a bit wayward once the light drops below a certain level.

In my experience all the foveon cameras I've owned are capable of getting it wrong if you don't shoot with them where they are best.

I fully agree with that.

Oh and I bought the SD15 to shoot infrared, colour really isn't an issue when you do this

The Foveon sensor have a very large advantage for IR images - it is still a three color sensor. The color filter in Bayer cameras all three lets through IR. So, it is quite hard to get nice color images. But, for the Foveon sensor it is very easy.

I agree, I watched a promotional video for the SD15 and they mentioned the dust protector but nothing about the IR advantage of removing it, quite staggering really, it's a pretty compelling USP that no other DSLR offers as far as I'm aware.
