Hi alcelc,

What you're describing is called High Dynamic Range photography, or HDR. You take a series of photos that captures the whole range of the scene and software creates a single image with the best exposure of all photos. You can set your GX7 to automatically bracket in 3 or 5 picture brackets. Try -2, -1, N, +1, +2 for a start. You can set auto bracketing with the bottom part of the 4-way controller on the back of the camera. Photomatix is the software most folks use, or you can use the HDR function on you GX7.

However... With closeup photography, and the way flowers move in even a tiny breeze, HDR is not a good choice. You'll get unacceptable movement between pictures. Instead, shoot in RAW and use a RAW processor like Adobe Camera Raw to get the most out of your images.

best regards,

Tom

Dear Tom, thank you for your information.

I have no problem in taking HDR in-camera or by PP.

Just having play with GX7, and found it has that Multiple Exposure feature. I remembered that it was an interesting thing I experimented in the film's day, without much success due to insufficient patience to learn the technique and the difficulty in keeping the same frame of negative in the for multiple exposure. Back to the early day of Panny, I once saw it in the FT version L10.

I'd set "Auto Gain=On", "Overlay=OFF", select "Start", GX7 allowed me to take quite a few images (seems to have no upper limit?) as long as I select "Next" for my next shoot. GX7'll combine all of my shoots automatically. Unfortunately, the target (to repeat itself few times in the same frame) in the final result looking like a few ghosts, close to semi-transparent, hanging in the backdrop of a very normal looking background.

I'd also experimented the setting like Auto Gain=OFF (nothing change, same as ON), Overlay= On (worst, even can't activate the function) without luck.

So I just wish to see any members here know this interesting feature.
