NX1 4K ETC anyone?

What I would really like to see implemented in a firmware update is a mode similar to ETC on Panasonic but with 4k. So give us a 1:1 pixel readout from the sensor. This is definitely possible as from what I understand this is exactly what the NX500 with the same sensor does for 4k video. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/55406662

This would be amazing as it would allow you to take a 50mm lens (70mm equivalent) then push into ~120mm equivalent. You would then be able to crop the image 2x in post and essentially get approximately 240mm (35mm equivalent) in 1080.

Likewise you could turn the 50-150 into a 720mm 35mm equivalent!

Now I know whenever someone mentions crop factors it always sparks a math debate. Please, I don’t want that to happen here. If my math in wrong or crop factor 0.01x off (witch it definitely is please don’t correct me. My point is merely Just that with this “ETC” mode it will give you a second "virtual" lens for no extra cost or weight.

I also think it will have less rolling shutter as well

Now I know nothing is "free" and this ETC mode will change your “equivalent” aperture but in my opinion it is definitely worth the hit in speed to get essentially a 240mm equivalent lens without ever having to change from the Kit lens.

The other *possible* potential here is maybe just maybe with the processor not working as hard down sampling the 6k to 4k maybe(fingers crossed) it could be used to bump up the fps to say 60fps… This is definitely more of a long shot as I am sure Samsung will keep 4k 60fps up their sleeve for the NX2 regardless but i can always dream.

Cheers,
