Canon T6i/T6s Advisory - Follow up
Re: Canon T6i/T6s Advisory - Follow up
It's hard to say...probably best to ask Canon. I suppose that Canon might be conservative in its decision to not say anything yet until they are absolutely sure that there will be no other issues.
Typically, I like to buy camera models after they have been out for more than a year. That way, all or a lot of the firmware updates are done. Plus any defects usually are caught and fixed at that time. The prices are usually lower too. I even took that approach with the Tamron 150-600mm lens when I didn't buy the first-early-made lenses. I waited for about 10 months and then decided to purchase one. But I still got bit with a defect. But that's life and I'll keep taking photos as long as I can. I purchased four Olympus and three Canon DSLR cameras without any of them having problems in about 7 or 8 years. One of my Olympus Zuiko 70-300mm lenses failed after about 35,000 pictures. I just bought another one and kept using it until I switched to Canon. If we buy enough gear, there's bound to be a problem that one of us will experience. I hope no-one has problems, but we read about enough of them here on this forum. Again, the key is to wait...wait for the professional reviews...wait for the firmware updates...wait for any defects to be fixed...wait for the price to drop. And while you're waiting...take pictures with what you have.
