Canon T6i/T6s Advisory - Follow up
1

Canon certainly did the right thing when they issued an advisory on the defective T6i/T6s sensors. The original advisory also promised an additional solution: "We are developing a solution and will inform you as soon as it is available."

I expected to learn that Canon had identified and resolved the source of the defect and had removed affected units from the supply chain. I also hoped they would address the speculation that the defect occurred after manufacturing and QC. Needless to say it would be a worry if apparently satisfactory units developed this defect at a later time.

It now appears that Canon is not going to provide the additional "solution." They have quietly reneged and removed this statement from their advisory. I suppose if you are a diehard Canon fan you can support the wisdom of the marketing department. Personally I think they owe the customer additional information and reneging was a sorry reflection on Canon's integrity.

I am still interested in buying a T6s, but I will continue to wait for more reviews and to be certain the sensor issue is resolved.
