How do i make the back dial stop making exposure compensation?

You can config how your front and back wheel to act. In Custom Setup Menu, P.7/8, Dial set, you may set the behavior and direction of the effect. 3 options there, 1st to set f.stop & SS, 2nd to set direction of the wheel, 3rd to set EC to front or back wheel.

I often press the back dial by mistake when rotating it, and simply want it to only change aperture and never exposure comp.

Were you in M mode? In A or S, you could only be able to set A or S and adjust EC. Try the above, and don't press in the back wheel as it has to be in older panny models.

whether i press it or not. Right now when i press the back dial, it always goes into exposure comp., and if i set it to have it be exposure comp. itself then it shows two different ways of setting exposure comp!

There is only 1 EC, can't get your meaning.

Another thing is how to make the monitor show the current aperture of the lens, so i can see the amount being in focus and degree of softness of background. It seems to only show the maximum aperture all the time,

Can't understand your issue. In A or M mode, the f/stop in effect should always be displayed at the bottom of evf/LCD. Were you in S mode where you could only set SS?

so i have to take a photo to actually see how the bokeh and focus looks.

Have you assign the Constant Preview mode to a fn key or one of the soft key on side Tab menu? Theoretically you could see the Aperture Effect (background blur) and Shutter speed effect (like silky flowing water etc) by the function. Unfortunately, it seems that it would only work in P/A/S & M (if Constant Preview in Menu = OFF) mode.

Activating the flash by using the button will only work if i also turn off silent mode and electronic shutter, can I make it do this by itself? When i open the flash i will of course use it and find it strange that i have to turn off electronic shutter myself since the camera knows the flash is up.

No, you can't.

Also the electronic zoom will only activate if i turn off raw, it seems logical that when I engage the zoom it should turn off raw by itself, or simply keep the raw as a non-zoomed version.

You mean the 2 zooms feature, i.e., Ex Tele Conv (would only be effective with a smaller resolution image, but no deterioration in IQ) and Digital zoom (full resolution but deterioration in IQ)? Under Raw, both option would be disable.

I tried to find out how to make the zoom only do a crop, and never digital zoom, yet it seems one have to first select small size and then 2x zoom to be sure there is only a crop and no digital enlarging.

Yes. I assigned the Quality, Aspect Ratio and Picture Size to the 3 soft keys in the side Tab Menu for easy modification. The Ex Tele Conv and Digital Zoom were in my Q. Menu.

Is there a way to change the display between showing info overlay or not? When i press the display button it always goes through two stages of showing level guides and then off before being back at info overlay, which is really annoying since i just want to change between showing info overlay or not, and never use the level guides; the information only screen can be turned on and off, but not the level guide screens?

Sorry, it is fixed by Panny to have a circular screen of display.

Also the small fn and arrow seem to be there permanently...

You might not use it. But as in above, it is quite handy allowing us to have most usual need features be handy to switch on/off.

While in the menu there are many things that depend on other settings, and some seem to need jpg only or silent mode off before i can change default behaviour, yet it found it useful to make a custom settings be jpg small 2x zoom as a very convenient digital crop (as long as I turn off the intelligent resolution:)

You might store the setting into one of the 5 custom setting (C-1, C-2, C3-1~3). In future, you may select that C mode and have all the setting and features be avaible immediately. Like EX Tele Conv is in my C-1 and Pmode with AutoISO is in my C-2.

But some features might not be allowed to store.

I am still trying to find the fastest way to autofocus for shooting portraits, and it seems to be better to use one-area than face-detection, though i really want to be sure the eyes are focused perfectly

Yes, plus the good AF Touch Pad having the single smallest focus box.

so wonder whether the face-detection

I personally don't feel the usefulness of face detection. But some members like it a lot.

is focusing for the eyes or if i should use pinpoint.

Unless feel the urgent need, I rarely use Pin point focus as its auto magnification of the focus area sometimes feeling annoying.

Some information on focusing here shows that dod only works for panasonic lenses, i wonder if my 75mm olympus would be faster on a pen or whether panasonic lenses would focus faster on my gx7? http://www.panasonic.com/nz/consumer/cameras-camcorders/lumix-g-mirrorless-dslm-cameras-learn/article/advantages-of-the-lumix-g-af-system.html)

When i shoot video, i found the continous autofocus to cause horrible hunting in low light, so I found out that I can autofocus while shooting by pressing the shutter and by changing the dial to mf I can manual focus by using the lens, but shake a lot, how do I engage the antishake for video?

No IBIS for video. Sorry.
