Re: Is the 70-200 better built than the 55-250?

Bought the 6D + 24-105L + 70-200 f4 L + 1.4x TC II (NOS) and stayed very close to budget. After comparing AF, photos and build to the T5i/55-250 STM, there is no comparison. My mistake (T5i + STM bundle) was an impulse buy partly based on some chatter about the 55-250 STM being great and cheap and thinking I could pay a lot less for really good quality. You still need to pay a lot to get a lot even with tech improvements since my old 20D came out.

By the way, the 70-200 f4 L is really a solid and compact lens. The 24-105 is really wide on the 6D and is easy to handle too. And it does not feel like junk. Not too expensive either compared to the 24-70 f2.8 L and 70-200 f2.8 iS L II. Im happy.

Glad you've made your decision and are happy with it.  I would consider adding a prime or two down the road to that setup and you'll have a really flexible kit.    Those 2 zooms can handle a TON of work on their own.
