That lens doesn't require stopping down the aperture if you want to achieve maximum sharpness. It is so incredibly good allready at f/2,8. Just take a look at those MTF-curves!

Seems like I won't be buying a new car this year. The old one still rolls and this lens rocksthe "beast"

the "beast" lives on

the 400/2.8L IS MKI is a beast! the 300/2.8 MKII is feather weight

for sports you can't beat the 400 especially now with FF cameras the 300 is on the short side.
