My Settings-NX1, 50-150 2.8 @2.8, Auto ISO 100-3200, 1/1000th, CAF, Focus-Speed Priority, Raw 8FPS, Zone AF Small, AWB, Vivid.
The bad!
- CAF single shot has a bad delay bewteen shots, lets say 4 shots in a row is a real pain
- 8FPS RAW is great except when you let off the shutter the screen goes bright white for half a second
- For shooting runners coming at you or going from left to right it's now awesome but with soccer and 4-5 people moving across the frame the evf delay will drive anyone nuts. I will say it's 100% better than the Sony A6000 and GH4!
- Samsung 50-150 2.8 Lens is fast and sharp! Except at 150mm it's soft, anything under 150mm like 135, 100 etc its sharp (77-225)
- NX1 needs options for 1/640th 1/800th ETC
- AF-On works for about 5 seconds then it stops working lol
The good!
- It now matches my D810 and is close to my D4s with good lighting in regards to AF and following the subject!!! Before the update on 1.22 it was a crap shoot with about 40-50% hit rate. Zone AF Small, Focus-Speed Priority is just like my Group AF on my 2 Nikon's
- I did a quick test with some rugby players in 4K 24 AF on and it locked on as they ran across the field and never hunted once
- I will be testing a trail running race this evening in dark woods with the 16-50S lens so we shall see how sharp that lens is.
I take pictures for MMA fights and over 50 running events a year. To see some of my work go to my website www.paulmnelson.com. I would say with one more firmware update that fixes a few more issues it will be the best sports, video camera on the market for the price.
I have inserted two images on the bottom so you can get an idea of the DOF and quality differences with what my pro camera can do vs the Samsung.
