The average score is 4.2. I gave it 3.5, someone gave it 5 star. That's how things are. What do you want me to do - blindly say it's the best camera ever made? It's not. And it's not the worst either.

I'm pointing out the negatives as I see them. I knew most of the things before I got the camera, but still they could try to improve some of the things I mentioned, even in entry level cameras. I know it's not typical for Canon to load entry level DSLR's with top-range features (pentaprism VF, AF adjustment, bigger buffer) and if some other brand does it, they probably take out something else (expensive glass, other features). I'm using it heavily and it has given me lots of good images, but I'm trying to be as objective as possible, so sory if I offended some of Canon's die hard fans here.

I love canon as much as I have two canon cameras and quite a lot of lenses, but I'm not a blind follower.

How about posting some pictures of the damage on your and your friend's 100Ds?

That's it? I tried that on mine and found it does that too, and I had to work at it a bit to get it to happen. It seems it's simply not glued there. Nor does it seem like it needs to be glued since it took very deliberate action on my part to make it happen and it snaps right back as if it never happened. It's not like the covering is peeling off in great chunks on it's own. Much ado about nothing.

Good for you. Be happy then. I hate to say it, but fanboys will be fanboys -

LOL...Your attempt to denigrate me with namecalling says much more about you than it does about me.

I simply have no brand loyalty. I've used Canon, Samsung, Sony, Fuji, Olympus, Pentax, Minolta, Sigma, Tamron, and other brands. I use what works for me, brand notwithstanding.

Good for you. You did sound rather personally involved though. Sorry if I insulted you then.

you fail to see the obvious. Also my friend's grip has fallen off completely, but he doesn't want to show pictures because he's a fanboy and as he said to me "I don't want Sony fanboys to start mocking us"

Why should anyone believe that? What you showed required deliberate action on my part to duplicate. Why should I believe the covering of your your friend's camera simply fell off. I'm sure I could deliberately remove the covering completely as well.

Why not? I think it might be possible that there was a faulty batch and maybe only some 100D (European) have the issue. What you don't see in my picture is that the rubber on the bottom has started to peel off too and it has somehow stretched. I'd try to do some pictures with an actual camera but I'm sure you'll find arguments for that too. Anyway - I should just get it to the repair shop but I'll wait a few months more.

I'm not ashame to say what I think and don't care what others have to say about that

Apparently you do care or you wouldn't be so defensive as to stoop to namecalling to support your statements.

Nope. I don't. If I did I would have posted a 5-star praise review.

- That's my own opinion.

Seems it's not only your opinion, it's your agenda.

Yes it is. I'm deliberately trying to drive the price of the 100D down so I can get a second body.

That doesn't mean I'm not generally happy with my camera but I do believe they are crippling their products deliberately .

LOL.

They are, aren't they. Canon doesn't offer much in the lower end and if it wasn't for Sigma we wouldn't have some of the best APS-C dedicated zooms and primes. I guess that might be true for other brands as well though.
