Should be probably enough on cameras with PDAF in live-view.

On cameras, which does only CDAF in live-view, the camera has to hunt again to get the focus.

If the camera's firmware know that the focal length is being increased/decreased, and hunt only in that direction, it would probably be enough too!

As AF is not perfect, many people use Manual focus for video recording. And parfocality is desired.
