Nice build but heavy, expensive and not really fast

There are a couple mk2 weaknesses identified in this review that I agree with:

1. I do struggle with the buffer time when shooting with RAW images. This can make itself apparent when shooting kids, sports or anything moving.

2. Autofocus is frustrating when you are close to the subject and there is low contrast.

Other than that, I feel like the reviewer is being unfair with the other low ratings. In fact, I think the review is arguably a bit myopic. The camera has limitations like any other camera, but I’ve taken many images that are not consistent with this review.

Please see below for examples of low light, landscape, children (portrait) and my children playing sports (despite my sports comment above):

Sure, I am not going to win any awards with these pictures, but the camera does just fine in each of the categories.  I am just your average prosumer point-and shooter.  Also, I have not used the LX100, so I defend the mk2 without that experience.

So yeah, as long as you are not trying to be a professional, the G1X mk2 provides some darn nice abilities.  I hope potential buys do proper research before discounting it.
