Sure, give it another month, but you're not crazy to sell it

I have the Panny equivalent, the f2.8 12-35mm and I find it rather weightier than I want on an ordinary basis. I use it for my professional work -- it has the size that impresses clients.

For day-to-day pix and wandering around with the camera, I have the little Panny 12-32 from the GM1 fitted to my G6 or GX7. A most pleasant combination.

You know how good that little lens is so why not try it on the EM5?

Also, the examples you show shot with the 12-40 are at the long end. In fact, though, you have the long end covered with the f1.8 45mm -- perhaps you don't really need the f2.8 12-40 zoom to cover that.

Are really interested in the wide end?

So you think sometimes you might like to go 12mm? If you have the 12-32 in your bag, you can use it to cover 12mm and thereabouts with very good IQ -- bearing in mind it starts at f3.5 which is only about half a stop less than f2.8. Hardly any loss of aperture at all.
