Why did you quit the GM1?

About the GM1, Started missing the view finder, and couldn't get truly comfortable with the one on my GX7 never felt comfortable, I'm left eye dominant so the range finder left side VF is kind of awkward. Tried the Olympus omd in the shop and was hooked.

Kind of wished I saved a bit more and kept hold of the GM1 though! Great little thing.

I am also left eye dominant and GX7 evf has not bothered me.  But obviously we make our own choices.

The lack of an evf on the GM1 is/can-be a problem but before the GM5 appeared I resolved this first with a Clearviewer (commercial) and then with my home-made VEfinder as I did not wish to permanently mount a Clearviewer on what was supposed to be a minimal camera.  Now I have the best of all worlds - a click-on/click-off finder that provides support for large lenses and also the screen can be seen in bright light conditions.

I have been through a considerable number of cameras and sworn not to set up yet another suite  of mount system dependent lenses since Canon EF but I think I have found perfection in the GM1/GX7 combination plus some excellent M4/3 lenses. (Backslider ....)

I would not be using M4/3 at all if it were not the introduction via the GM1.  Nor have I any inclination to try a M4/3 body larger than the GX7.

To my way of thinking the whole object of the M4/3 system is "compact" and to me this means smaller lenses (and smaller bodies).
