SX60 Two Part Review
1

The SX60 can make good pictures in the right conditions with RAW capture

I notice the SX60 gets very little attention on this forum, with most favouring the SX50. I bought the SX60 several months ago and have been testing it alongside the Panasonic FZ1000 and TZ70 and the Nikon P900.

I did not have an SX50 for comparison.

In brief the SX 60 has a nice handle and is comfortable to hold, has a good image stabiliser and a decent EVF. It is a nice size, large enough to hold steady but not big like the P900.

Less impressive are the lens which loses sharpness at the long end with a lot of flare, the JPGs which have (in my view) excessive noise reduction and sharpening, and the 4 way controller on the back which is a real pain to use.

The link above is to the first of the two part review on Camera Ergonomics.

I think Canon missed some opportunities with the SX60  making it difficult to recommend.
