Nice build but heavy, expensive and not really fast

I traveled with the GX1II through Asia, with dust and humidity.

Very solid build and nice feeling in hand.

The focal lengths is almost perfect for traveling with a small camera: 24-120 mm and for indoors you have f:2,0. But this will soon go down to f:3,9.

I had some losses with the AF, it is not the fastest and don't liked the viewfinder so much - in comparison there are better electronic viewfinders with faster picture replay and less noise in shadow areas.

For me it handles not very good with a flash in the hot shoe.

It is a bit on the heavy, not perfectly balanced side.
The pictures where fine and crisp, the sensor is good. But in low light, noise will be apparent from 1600ISO.

Then I got the Panasonic LX100 for traveling Florida - it is so much faster, picture quality is mostly equal (sensor size too), colors at the LX100 are to red and the G1x are a step colder
but the LX100 it is better balanced, 170g lighter - for the price of missing some focal lengths.

But if I had to decide, the LX100 is a winner for me.

The GX1II needs for me faster electronics, cpu, buffer, everything and it deserves a better viewfinder and Panasonic/Leica shows, that a travel companion could be built lighter with a big sensor and a good viewfinder inside.

Canon is expensive, especially if you want a viewfinder.

I am not a fanboy - nor a camera-system-believer!
Not everything is pink, lot's of grey on cameras and lenses.
