X100T View Mode weirdness
2

Hi,

So I recently bought an X100T and generally like it. I usually shoot on 5DmkIIIs, this is a carry-around camera for me. But there's one aspect of the View Mode options that I find weird and annoying.

I only want to use the OVF, I don't want the viewfinder display to appear on the LCD, but I do want my menus on the LCD. The problem with each View Mode is:

"Viewfinder Only" - When I press the Menu button, the Menu display appears only in the viewfinder.

"Viewfinder Only + Eye Sensor" - When I press the Menu button, the Menu display appears only in the viewfinder.

"Eye Sensor" - This does show the menus on the LCD when the camera is removed from my eye, but it also turns the LCD on every time I remove the camera from my eye. I just want the LCD on when I want to access the menus.

Is there no way for this camera to behave like every other camera (DSLR and compact) I've ever used? I.e. I shoot through the OVF and there is no display on the LCD, I press the Menu button and the Menus are displayed on the LCD.

Am I missing something? Otherwise I like the camera, but this is very annoying....

Thanks....

Canon EOS 5D Fujifilm X100T
