need advice on shooting video with canon t1i and 50 mm prime 1.8
Apr 28, 2015
ok so on wednesday i was asked to shoot my friends showcase. we are both hip hop producers and he is having a beat showcase. im not trying to do anything super professional, but i would like to get something decent.
the canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens is my only other lens beside the kit lens which i hate at this point lol.
without bringing a tripod and without having a stabilization rig of some sort i need to find a way to record his set. i dont have much experience with dslr video (hence why i have the older model canon to learn with) and i have been practicing shooting around the house. i get a ton of shaky footage and have brought the video into adobe after effects to stabilize with warp stabilization. one thing that is terrible is the fact that the video always crops too far so the resolution is smaller. should i be backing up more when i record?
what are your guys suggestions? i dont want to film his set to find out its shaky and when i try to fix it the video is cropped. thanks in advanced for any responses.
