Hi All,
Very recently I bought Samsung NX300M + 16-50 PZ lens camera, it is working fine but I have below problem. I am not understanding they are any manufacuturing problems or I need to change any settings. I am very new to DSLR cameras
1. In auto mode moving objects are getting blurred. Suppose if i am sitting on a chair and saying Hi, by moving my hand, then only my hand gets blurred reamaining object coming fine.
If I tried same picture with my normal compact digital cannon 8 mega pixel camera picture is coming perfectly. Please let me know, is it something problem in camera or do i have to make any changes to the settings.
2. Again in auto mode if I am focusing on one object background is getting blurred automatically without making any changes to the settings. But sometimes if I dont want this effect what settings I need to change.
Please provide me your advice on this.
Thanks,
Krishna.
1. The hand is blurry because the shutter speed to slow. The slower the shutter speed, the more motion blur you will get. If you're in auto mode, the camera is going to choose the shutter speed and it won't have any idea what you're trying to capture. It will pick a slow shutter speed if it isn't well lit. If you want to control motion blur try using Shutter Priority mode. You can pick the shutter speed and the camera will pick the other two settings.
For example: 1/60 shutter will get motion blur, 1/200 will get less.
2. You are seeing a smaller Depth Of Field. Having a smaller DOF allows you to isolate a subject to keep it in focus while the out of focus stuff becomes less distracting. If you want to increase the DOF to keep more in focus, pick a smaller aperture (a high number).
