What are L-brackets for?

With an l-bracket, the camera stays over the center or the head and tripod when in portrait or landscape orientation. This allows for smaller and lighter heads and tripods to be used and still be stable.

With a swing arm tripod, a L-bracket lets the camera be positioned in ways not possible without a L-bracket.

It also allows for options with an Ultrapod II when strapped to a tree, stop sign, parking meter, ...

A lot of people simply like them for the fact that you don't need to adjust the head to switch between portrait and landscape. I personally also like the l-brackets on the Sony mirrorless cameras because they make the grip longer and that makes the cameras easier for me to hold.

Thank you
Russell

What L-Brackets are you using for your A7ii ?
