Canon 11-24 on Good Friday assignment
3

Hi again. I promised I'd post a few more example photos. I had a Good Friday editorial assignment yesterday and gave the new 11-24 f/4L a pretty good workout. These are handheld grab shots (gotta work fast) under difficult light. These are raw photos converted to smaller jpegs, NO sharpening; just a bit of opening up of shadows and bringing down highlights and color correction.

PS--Nobody gets to make snarky comments about distorted people at the edges--I am well aware of the issue with wide angles, thank you.

These are just supplemental grab shots so not that exciting--I'll post the photos I sent into the newspaper as soon as they run.

Note that Canon and Adobe have not come out with their lens correction updates yet--these are straight shots!

I am more and more impressed with Canon's 11-24 f/4L lens. It is built like a tank and I definitely notice the weight, but it is compact enough that I have no difficulty in handling it in crowded or hectic conditions. I have always said that this lens will appeal primarily to landscape and architectural photographers, but I'm beginning to think that this bad boy might be a heck of an editorial lens!
