Thanks to timbermax for running the previous challenge.
I've been asked by the winner, Roman, to host the next round.
Hopefully, people will take photos specifically for the challenge, though I'll be paying no attention to exif whatsoever. The image has to be a photograph, but any device is allowable, the obvious being cameras, but phones, pads, watches - whatever. Any manufacturer allowed.
The main things is that I don't want typical selfies.
The second main thing is that I don't know any celebrities, so posing with the Pope, Poet or President will go clean over my head.
YOU must take the photo. Just how you achieve this is up to you - remote releases are Ok, mirrors are fine, but if it doesn't look like you took the photo then I'll ignore it. No amount of elaborate explanation will make any difference, it has to be an obvious selfie.
And that's it. It can be creative, or fun, or both, or arty, or painful, or whatever you think might make a selfie worth looking at for someone other than your family.
...and keep it clean, none of the NSFW shots no matter what you have tattooed on your behind.
I would post examples, but that might stifle creativity. If you don't know where to start, then try googling creative selfies. There's plenty of inspiration there, though I'd kick some out as they don't look like the person taking the shot controlled the camera.
I'm guessing the judging will break down into:
1. Don't look like selfies (zero points)
2. Too much the typical selfie (zero points) but hey, they might still be fun
3. So much effort that they deserve to be seen (5 points)
4. Truly inspirational (50 points)
5. Best of the best of the best (1000 points)
PS, if you want to ask a question, then add a post with 'question' in the title and I'll try and help out.
RULES
1. You post one image (if you post more than one, the first image will be your entry).
2. The host chooses the winner after closing. The decision of the judge (host) is final. The judge is not eligible.
3.The winner then chooses the next topic, runs the challenge, judges the winner and passes the baton to that person. If the winner fails to post a new Challenge within 72 hours of being declared the winner then the runner-up should post the new Challenge within a further 24 hours.
4. ANYTHING CAPABLE OF CAPTURING AN IMAGE IS ALLOWED.
5. Feel free to comment on other contestant's images but do be polite. If you would like constructive criticism on your own entry, put 'CC' in the title to so indicate.
Please EMBED your image in the thread. Try to resize your images prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without scrolling.
6.******** NO TIME LIMIT OF WHEN THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN. ********
REMEMBER TO REPLY TO THE FIRST POST OF THIS THREAD!
