So I had the chance to get out with the E-M1 and the 40-150 Pro lens last weekend. I got a little sun and enjoyed the day. First time using this combo. The E-M1 was rock solid as usual. The 40-150 Pro was also a solid build.

The CAF was good and fast but I had a lot of focus loss and turns out I had the CAF lock off. Lesson to double check that next time. They do not make this setting easy to get to or easy to understand. The cars were moving quite quickly and the CAF was doing a great job when it worked.

The lens felt great. The zoom was smooth and easy. The Fn button was not easy for me to get to without looking at it. It is set for ISO. I stumbled over the focus ring for about 15 minutes, snapping in and out from manual to auto accidentally,  but finally got that worked out.

There was a bit of dust in the air and I never worried about the E-M1 or the lens. I did have an issue with the dust and the lens hood. It got dust built up in the slider grooves and really did not want to slide at all. I pulled it off and cleaned everything with a microfiber towel and all was good. In a dust environment you sometimes need to clean the lens and if the hood is out and stuck you have to remove the hood while it is extended to do this. Not too bad but it was a little awkward.
