Re: How to apply Myset on E-PM2?

Unfortunately, you're not doing anything wrong, AFAIK. Until the release of the E-M10 (or maybe the E-M1, which I don't have experience of), the Fn button-press MySet operation really does require you to hold down the Fn button to keep the MySet engaged - with the more recent models, it finally operates as a toggle function, which is much better. The E-PL5, released at the same time as the E-PM2, brought in the possibility of overwriting mode dial positions with MySets, which handily got around this limitation, but of course one of the characteristics of the E-PM2 is no mode dial, so that's not a possibility with it.
Difficult to press fn and shutter at the same time. I also reprogrammed the rec-button as a myset, but pressing this button together with the shutter introduces more shaking in my hands, especially as the rec-button is a little bit harder to press.
Interesting, that the manual does not mention this important information.
I have to admit I haven't experimented much with the through-the-menu option for engaging a MySet, as I find it a bit problematic to revert to non-MySet operation afterwards with that method(which is my own fault for not paying enough attention to MySets so far, despite viewing them as a useful feature - I'm usually happy enough just changing settings individually, on the fly).
Stepping through the menu to engage the mysets is also not very convenient within the not so well organized menu structure of Olympus cameras. Then having no names for the mysets makes it difficult to remember which settings are stored.
So overall the mysets seem pretty useless on the PM2.
Reverting to non-myset is easy (and in my opinion too easy) e.g. on the M5II:
- switch off/on camera
- press menu button and immediately exit menu
- switch mode dial to another position and back
