A very simple and zero cost solution

What I do when I want a wider angle is to rely on taking a simple panorama.  I set my zoom at its widest (14mm) and then I either take 3 images in the portrait mode, side by side with some overlap, or 4 images in the landscape mode, two images per row, two rows high.  To process these takes under a minute by Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, or the free Microsoft ICE.

There is a HUGE bonus compared to having a wide angle lens.  The final image will have more pixels and for any given image or print size will be sharper than even the most expensive wide angle lens, especially if you zoom in some.

I find this to be terrific for landscapes or the interior of cathedrals.  If someone would give me a free super wide angle lens I would decline it.

The resulting distortions may take some editing, but that is easy.
