Small but awesome performer

The A6000 has been around for a while now and the huge amount of positive reviews out there are pretty accurate when I compare to my own experience. It's a fantastic camera for street, everyday family/travel but also for more serious work. I still can't figure out how they managed to squeeze so many goodies into such a small camera.

Positives

  • Excellent resolution
  • AF and exposure do a good job
  • Configure almost any button functionality to your own taste
  • Electronic viewfinder is very good
  • Good extra functions (WIFI, focus peaking, etc)

Negatives

  • Does not have swivel flipscreen (only up/down)
  • Not enough noise reduction settings
  • No microphone jack
  • Nex system lacking enough lens choices
  • Battery time is not that good

I find it to be a fast and accurate camera when it comes to AF and exposure. Battery time is usable but not great but getting spare batteries and a car charger is easy and not very expensive.

The kit lens is crap and will not show you anything near what this 24 megapixel sensor actually does. Using the kit lens is like perpetually walking through fog and wondering why you can't see much, get something else.

24 megapixels • 3 screen • APS-C sensor
