Where is the wind surfer??
What you talk about is kite surfing / boarding.
Holding onto those kites in 45 mph winds is WInd Surfing, as I see it, as it can be done from a parking lot and not the surf.
The problem is that windsurfing is another kind of sports that you do with a sail and not with a kite. That is where the confusion comes from.
Perhaps next time you should call it kite boarding. Because no matter where you are, you always have a kite and a board, though the shape of your board may vary depending on its operational area
Have you ever tried doing it yourself? It's lots of fun!
No, if I ever tried it I would wear out the lifeguards.
My photographing the surfers gives me a way to share the exhilaration they must feel while surfing.
Can't wait for next time.
