Re: Which is a better option ? Canon S120, G16 or Sony RX100

Brian raises some good questions...if image quality is the most important, then the RX100 hands down. I've never used the RX100 so I can't really comment knowledgeably about it; I've only played with one at BestBuy. If you want a high quality camera with excellent IQ that will fit comfortably in your pocket, then the S120 is the way to go (although that price seems a bit high considering what a lot of them go for on eBay). If you want an excellent all-around camera with excellent IQ that has a fast lens at both the wide and tele ends of the lens, then the G16 would be the choice. I have both the G16 and the G7X, which is Canon's version of the RX100, and the IQ from the G7X is simply superb and outdoes the still excellent IQ from my G16. At the same time, the IQ from the G16 at lower ISOs is excellent, especially RAW images, and the G16 has slightly faster AF and is easier to handle for my large hands. At the time I purchased my G16, I chose it over the S120 and RX100/RX100II, primarily because of the fast f/1.8-2.8 lens and the fact that it feels good in the hand. It's also a very solid performer and a joy to use.
