S5 Pro - Capture One made a difference.

Hello, how are you?

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a mint S5 pro really cheap.

I read great things about the camera and it's great ability to shoot portraits and people shots.

But since I got the camera, I wasn't really happy with the results.

When I got home and imported the files to Lightroom, I always thoughts the images looked soft. And I had a hard time processing them to my liking.

So I placed the camera aside and went back to my Nikon.

But this week, after reading some things about Capture One Pro, I decided to give it a try.

The interface can be intimidating if you're very used to Lightroom.

There is a road to go trough to learning the software and I am not even close...

But I must say that Capture One seems to handle the S5 Raw files way better.

Here is a quick example of a snapshot.

Both images where shot RAW and one is processed in Lightroom and the other in Capture One.

The processing is near identical.

I must say the Capture One looks sharper and punchier.

The Lightroom process:

And the Capture One:

What's your thoughts?

Do you use Lightroom or Capture One with the S5?

If you use Capture One, how do you find the workflow and image management capabilities compared to Lightroom?

Cheers!
