A little wonder, with flaws
3

I've had my Ricoh GR for quite a while, and coming from Pentax, the settings were very familiar, like TAv, and just the fact that the menu system is superb, smells a lot of Pentax (they are single company, these days, so not very surprising that things feel similar)!

So a menu system second to none. Period!

That Dxo Optics Pro doesn't understand Ricoh RAW files is a disgrace, hopefully corrected some day ...

The camera is at its very best when shooting B&W, far better than anything else I've tried, and it has numerous versions of serial shots, including conventional bracketing. My lovely Nikon 1 cameras can't do a single version, but the straight 5, 10, or 20 shots in a row.

The colour fidelity is stunning, straight out of the camera, but I'd love if it was a bit faster, and that high ISO didn't entail quite as much noise.

Faster in every respect (better processor, faster sensor — bigger ISO range, faster lens, and faster file transfer), that I'd love, and an optional EVF!

Would I recommend it? Yes, but take a look at Nikon Coolpix A first, you might prefer that!

It has no quirks, but it is maybe not for everyone!
