Some 717_IR

Hi,
Dramatic shot! Whats your filters used and what time of the day is the best?

thanks ramon

These are all extremely well composed, exposed and edited IR's. Great subject matter.

Well done :-)

'If one really wishes to be master of an art, technical knowledge of it is not enough. One has to transcend technique so that the art becomes an 'artless art' growing out of the Unconscious.'

They look like they were shot in the middle of the night and the highlight in the water is the reflection of the moon. Great job.

Did you shoot them manual or nightshot and how did you post-process?

THanks for sharing

These are beautiful IR's, nicely composed, I especially like the first one.

While these are definitely nice shots, they appear, on my monitor, to have lots of clipped highlights, that is to say, highlights with no detail, just pure white. As this effect is rarely seen in nature, it appears unattractive to my eye. There's a post processing thing called contrast masking, which helps keep highlight detail.

I used two layers to edit this photo, the lower, or background layer was adjusted up to right before highlights clip, the duplicate layer on top was then adjusted for good midtones and shadows, letting the highlights clip. Then the clipped highlights in the top layer were erased away, letting the unclipped ones show through from the background layer...
