If you shoot a portrait at 1600 ISO and dial in -2 EC, and then reprocess in-camera, pushing the image by 2 stops, you get more texture in the skin in the resulting JPEG than if you had shot the image with the camera initially set to 6400 ISO, without losing any image quality.

It might be a bit of a workaround. Or maybe I'm just dreaming.
