On the monitor that I'm using the exposure looks good (I have several that I use, some that are slightly different).  Did you check the histogram?

As someone mentioned, disable the ALO.  I can't remember if I disabled the HTP.  See YouTube or the internet more about how to disable them and see if that makes a difference.  I routinely shoot up to ISO5000 with my Canon T2i (550D) and Canon T3i (600D) cameras.  The noise is not a problem for me when resizing or making prints.  If any of us pixel peek enough, we will see the noise.  How does it look when printed out?

You can see hundreds of resized photos that I've taken and shown on the weekly "Show Your Snaps" thread at high ISO.  Since I live in cloudy and rainy Oregon, I have to use high ISO settings.  I've been taking them as out-of-the-camera JPEGs.
