NX3000 @ 16-50 PZ - First Shoot
1

It was snowing all day and I had to go to the Amazon Locker to pick up my New $299 NX3000.

I ordered it yesterday and got my delivered email notice a day early, today. (Shipped from Kentucky to NYC).

I stopped for lunch and set up my camera. The battery was 3/4 full. Set up the Wifi and Mobile Link and Remote Viewfinder to my tablet. Worked perfectly and fast on file transfer.

Well on the way home I decided to take some shots of the many snow covered trees and bushes, all of which had each branch full of light, dry, fluffy snow, making a beautiful scene which you do not often see in NYC.

I took these shots when stopped at red lights and/or stuck in the snow bound traffic. (NOTE: never use a camera while driving).

Shot some Jpeg only and Raw+Jpeg. I processed only the Jpegs, (as they were shot at ISO 200 and quite satisfactory regarding tonality and detail, imo) in Fast Stone Viewer and then in CS4 with the Color Efex 4 plug-in. No sharpening, just crop and cloned out some private ID signs in various photos.

The button controls were quite easy to use, not having a touch screen. No Problem for me.

This first shoot confirmed for me that the NX3000 is a keeper, as well as the 16-50 PZ, and the free copy of LR which I did not realize was included with the NX3000.
