After 2 years and rumours of 2000mm and other spec’s Canon produced the SX60.

It was not the successor I was hoping for. I sill use my SX50.

Now Nikon suddenly produced the P900 (short after the P610):

It does have: 2.8-6.5 / 24-2000 mm lens and 5 stop VR.

And also: 921k-dot EVF with eye detection, Snap-Back Zoom button, GPS, Wi-Fi.

Of course there are some drawbacks:

No RAW, Hot shoe, Lens hood or filters.

Focus from 5 meter at 2000mm with a shutter lag of 0.75 second. (at close range it is 0.12s)

And of course it is bigger and heavier.

(And it has also the noisier 16 MP sensor they are all using now.)

Based on tests from the P600 the IQ should be better than the SX50 or SX60 ?

Come up Canon what is your answer
