The repairs for the camera and lens was not cheap but I think the cost was entirely appropriate considering the damage that occurred. I was sure the camera was a goner and the lens I wondered if they could fix it. I don't recall how much but it was likely somewhere around $400 for the camera and $250-300 for the lens. Considering I couldn't buy even a reconditioned camera and lens for $600-$700 at that time, I thought it was a good deal.  In that there was about 6 months between the camera and lens damage the cost was sort of absorbed over time so the sticker shock wasn't too bad.
