Can I use "Hood" for 18-55mm Lens (Canon 1200D)?

Clive is correct, however I would like to add that there are two types of hoods: tulip and circular. The type that is pictured above is a tulip type. I also use that size lens and what Clive said is correct, however I would like to add that you need a round type lens because that size lens from Canon rotates to focus and rotating lenses take the round type.

Do not use a "tulip" shaped hood on the regular 18-55 lens. The front rotates as you focus and the "petals" will not be lined up properly.

If you have the 18-55 STM version the front does not rotate and the Canon EW-63 hood for this lens does have "petals".
