Light meter.

I'm quite new to photography, I've been a second for a few weddings and just recently bought my own gear.

I have a question about using Aperture mode on my Nikon D750.

Why does the light meter sometimes show up when I'm using this mode and other times when I look down at the camera it's not there?

Is there a way to always have it show up on my camera? I know in manual mode the light meter is always there but I want it to always be there in aperture mode as well.

I'm also usually using auto iso if that makes any difference.

thanks in advance for assistance and guidance on this issue.
