Have you sent a camera in for warranty work? I had my kid pull the tripod over and break the lens off my EP3, broke the lens and the camera. Sent it in. They charged me all of about $75 to rebuild the entire thing and give me a new lens with a two week turnaround.

And it is not a gimmick.

I have been to events in the rain where guys I know are running around with plastic bags on their Nikon cameras and look at me like I am crazy and offer me an old grocery bag for my E-M1. I turn them down and advise they buy an Olympus camera. Keeping water off the lens surface is the only concern.

I've found the best thing for keeping my lens from having water on it is one of those "Sham-wow" thingies. I've cut one up to have a lot of little squares. They wick all the water off and I can wring it out and put in in my waterproof pouch. If I think I need them I can carry a dozen in quart zip lock. They don't scratch the lens and are pretty inexpensive.

A DSLR is a black hole that you throw money in to, and enjoy every minute of it!!!!
