Can you please point me to ANY specific case where a person “lost a camera when they were shooting in humid conditions” and where a weather sealed camera would have been covered in that situation?

Anecdotes ≠ Data

Asking "do you know someone who..." is meaningless.  E.g. if there are 10,000 EM1 bodies in use, one or two unverifiable examples based on web posts isn't a significant sample.  It'd also be easy to find one or two examples to match any conclusion.  (E.g. I posted earlier about one guy who got a warranty denial, which he later got reversed; and another poster did get a warranty replacement with no fuss.)

Nor is there any indication that dew accumulating on a camera will categorically result in a warranty denial.

I don’t doubt that the weather sealing can prevent a malfunction. I just doubt there is anyone who has had it fail in this manner when it wasn’t weather sealed.

And you're basing this on a handful of incidents where an E-PM2 got covered in dew, and still worked fine for long exposures?  You don't even have your own examples of manufacturers routinely denying warranties on weather-sealed cameras?  Sorry, but that's not proof.  It's not even an anecdote.  It's sheer speculation.

I won’t be testing my new E-M5 MK II under those conditions though. Even with its “Weather Resistant” label I know better than to risk it with such a high dollar camera that isn't covered under warranty for that kind of abuse.

Or, you're just being paranoid about the warranty disclaimers, with no real evidence to make any such claim.

OK, enough kvetching.  How about a practical solution?  I've got one.

Verify that your camera equipment is covered by your homeowner's / renter's insurance.  You should be able to schedule it, which gives you enhanced coverage.  If the camera is damaged, and the warranty is denied, you can ask the insurer.

It's not perfect, as you'll have deductibles and can have issues with the insurer.  But it does give you another level of protection.
