This whole conversation was about the gimmick of weather sealing feature on a camera. Which has been proven not a gimmick. It actually works. Why want to water test a non weather sealed device? Its like throwing a car in the water to see if it floats.

I have yet to see any real world examples where someone has shown that a non-weather sealed camera failed in a manner that would be covered under a weather sealed warranty. If you show me a real world situation like that then I will eat crow.

Again. Why? In real world situation with real consumers, I don't think they would simply pour water on their non weather sealed gear just to see if it still works.

I dare to run tap water on my 12-40mm to clean it because the spec says it's weather sealed. And it is.
