Re: help!, can not turn off my EX2F

+1

I managed to pierce a Lithium battery with a screw driver whilst changing it in a sat nav device. It was glued in and you were obviously supposed to buy a new sat nav. The chemical that came out quickly burnt a little hole in the skin of my thumb with a strange mixture of electrical and chemical hissing. Nasty stuff inside these batteries.

I can't imagine why the battery would be stuck unless it is leaking or swollen. I would try firmly sticking a piece of duct tape or some kind of very adhesive tape to the battery and pulling it out that way. If it is really stuck I would drill a hole in the battery, insert a screw, and yank it out.

I do not recommend this. Even if the risk isn't large, there is a chance that drilling could cause the battery to explode. If he can't find anything holding it in, then maybe holding the tab aside and giving it a good shake upside down might get it out, maybe the spring failed? If there is one that is, I'm not familiar with this particular camera.

Removing the SD card doesn't help because of the thin sheet of metal separating the card from the battery.

Mine pops right out.
