Now I have the 40-150 f2.8 I feel that a small light grip would make the carrying in one hand experience, more pleasant.

I don't want/need the OEM battery grip (and would resent paying for it as I somehow missed out on the UK free grip promotion!).

I decided that the J.B. grip looked ideal - small, black and light (is it plastic?), but they now only appear to make it in wood; I presume that it's heavier and IMO it looks ghastly attached to the black EM1.

Are their any other small and LIGHT 3rd party grips (with access to the battery compartment) available, or does anybody have an J.B. surplus to requirements?

wooden jb grip

Wow, just had to check out that wooden grip. It's simultaneously the most ugliest and cutest thing I could possibly attach to my em1

Sorry, I don't have experience on any other grip than the official battery grip. I love it though, easy to take off if not needed and feels great. I need the extra battery as I do a lot of long exposures.
